Mounted on a dark (stained?) 12" x 10" block of wood, is a really neat old door knocker with a bear motif. Two bears are climbing up twisted branches in an attempt to reach the top. There is a hoop at the top where it attaches to the wood or originally to a door. The bears are of a hollow casting and believed to be bronze. There is a nice patina and also some residue (seen as white or green particles) which may be from an attempt to clean it or from normal wear. I have not tried to remove this but a buyer may wish to clean it...or not. This came from a wealthy estate and believed to be antique...perhaps Victorian era. Great wall art or knocker for your man cave or mountain get away cabin. Four letters MANZ (or similar) appear on the branch but I have been unable to identify the manufacturer. Perhaps from Germany??
