Here is a very nicely hand crocheted bonnet made for a child in the late 1800s or early 1900s. When lying on its side it is about 23" from lowest edge, up and over the top and down the other side. Front to back (on one side lying flat) it is 7" deep. The colors are brown with rust colored overlays and scalloped trims. There are 2 long striped cloth ties which do show some wear as can be expected on items a hundred years old but the bonnet itself is very sturdy...I see only one place where there is a broken thread. I just love the rust colored overlay that goes around the back and ties at the bottom...don't you? Shown on a large doll who is not included but hopefully gives you an idea of the size...on my doll it hangs down farther than it would on a child. Nice addition to a collection of antique child's wear.
