This little set of furniture was handmade in the 1920s according to it's previous owner and reminds me of the Mission furniture of the Arts and Crafts movement. Definitely home made, it includes a table and two chairs. One chair back shows remnants of printing which would have been on a wooden cigar box, therefore appealing to collectors of cigar box art as well as doll lovers. The table is about 3 1/4" high and has a 4" x 4" top. It has cut out sides with a Mission style shelf below that actually extends through the uprights. Chairs are 4" high, have curved tops and one chair back is thicker than the other. The whole set is primitive in nature with rough boards, unevenly cut sides and nail construction...perhaps made by a young boy for a little sister?? So sweet!!
