I was told by the antique dealer who sold this to me that this little bank was made in the 1800s...but, I think it may be later than that...perhaps the early 1900s-30s. At any rate, it is made of tin and glass and resembles a little birdhouse. It was made by hand and has little tin tabs that fit into other pieces to keep it together. There is a slit in the top for coins but only large enough for dimes and pennies. It certainly is a miniature at only 1 1/2" high x 1 1/2" wide. There are 2 glass sides and 2 tin ones. Neat miniature piece for bank collector or dollhouse enthusiast. Rare!!
