For your consideration, I offer you this civil war era (or earlier) childs dress. It is made of white twill fabric which forms tiny diamonds and is trimmed with narrow white cording in a decorative fashion. The neckline is a bit curved though very wide with an 8" opening across front. Though the fabric is very sturdy, there has been some repairs made over the years as seen in several photos. There is one on the front and also one on the back along the button seam which has been repaired by adding a fabric patch. I think you could put a pocket over the one on the front and it would be acceptable...I have included a triangular piece that could be sewn on to cover front flaw if desired. (See last 2 photos.) Also, the dress shows yellowing areas from storage which should whiten up nicely if laundered. I will leave that up to the buyer. Dress is about 20" long and A lined in design. One button closure in back. Bottom of dress is scalloped by design.
