For your consideration, I offer this wonderful child's summer coat from the Victorian era. It is about 22" long, 11 1/2" shoulder to shoulder and has 9" long sleeves measured under the arm. The background fabric has a tiny vertical ribbing weave and inserts of nickel sized open weave circles surrounded by teeny white on white flower petals. The large draping collar also has these wonderful inserts as do the 3" wide cuffs! Collar and cuffs are scalloped too. There are mother of pearl buttons on the front as well as a hook and eye and a partial closure at neck (needs a hook).
The back side has the collar coming to a V...it could probably be worn either way and is in wonderful condition with only 1 flaw...a small pea sized hole near seam on one side...hard to see and should be an easy fix for anyone good with a needle.
