This 19th Century little girl's fine cotton bodice chemise under garment is a great find for the clothing collector or doll enthusiast. It has a square type neckline popular in the early to mid 1800s, lots of tiny gathering with hand stitching, a pull drawstring at top and lovely openwork sleeves. It is about 10" across front under arms x 7" long. The bottom is open which leads me to believe it may have once been sewn closed and housed another drawstring. Pretty design on bottom edge too. Could be used as a blouse on an antique doll. Just pair it up with an antique skirt!! Very sweet!!
