Here is an orphaned rag doll for the collector. A recent estate sale of a retired antique dealer offered a treasure trove of goodies. In a long forgotten box, I found several Never Used handmade rag dolls from the early to mid 1900s. From the machine & hand stitched cloth bodies to the hand drawn and or painted faces, each doll is wishing for a chance to be loved for the very first time.
I'll refer to this doll as an Amish doll since many of those dolls do not have faces. This one stands about 15" tall, and is one of the largest of this grouping of long forgotten dolls. It is firmly stuffed with old cotton batting and I can envision it with a pair of long black pants with suspenders, a colorful shirt and a straw hat...but maybe you think it should be a lady? No matter what you decide, this doll is looking for a loving home and glad to be found!
