Here is an orphaned rag doll for the collector. A recent estate sale of a retired antique dealer offered a treasure trove of goodies. In a long forgotten box, I found several Never Used handmade rag dolls from the early to mid 1900s. From the hand stitched cloth bodies to the hand drawn and or painted faces, each doll is wishing for a chance to be loved for the very first time.
This particular doll has bright blue eyes with yellow brows, red lips and a 2 dot nose. At 12 1/2" tall, it is one of the smaller dolls found with this family. The face is done on an overlay piece of fabric. The back side of this doll is plain and does not have any markings. Cotton batting was used to stuff these dolls many many years ago! Be sure to see others from this "find" in my listings.
