This late 1800s little one's day dress came to my collection several years ago when I attended a rural farm sale here in Lancaster Co., Pa. The estate sale offered a myriad of wonderful old fabrics and children's clothing which had been passed down from generation to generation. I was told this belonged to the boys of the family back in the late 1800s-early 1900s. It is white with light blue lollipops (calico) all over it. The neck and sleeves have handmade lace, it has a gathered high waist, and 3 mother of pearl buttons in back. It is about 21" long, 9 1/2" shoulder to shoulder and has 8" long sleeves. It is in good condition but does need a few stitches (1/2" long area along gathering) and has a small hole in back which could use a repair if so desired...not real noticeable. A sweet addition to a clothing collection.
