From years past, here is a collection of test pieces of crocheted lace which the maker sewed onto a pink fabric background. I love it, don't you??! The piece is about 36" long x 15" wide and has about 50 handmade lace pieces on it. It could have been a schoolgirl's project or perhaps used to show other's different laces one could make...no matter what the original use, it would look great in a frame or used as a pillow top. A few pieces need to be stitched back into place and there are several blank areas...perhaps it could be folded and framed with the half showing the most pieces facing outward? There is a small rip on one end where a piece is missing and some age marks here and there on pink back. Just a neat piece of sewing and lace making from years past! Where have you seen another sampler like this lately??
