I offer for your consideration this wonderful large Atlas of Montgomery County Pa from 1877 by J. D. Scott.. You are getting the original complete book printed in 1877...not just one or two new prints from it. Inside you will find the history of Montgomery County, Pa.; color maps; maps and plans of villages, towns townships and boroughs; population statistics far and wide; and spectacular lithographic views of schools, businesses and residences in the area back then. The book is about 17 1/4" x 14 1/2" and has a hard back cover. There is some wear to the spine with the cloth cover tearing or missing near ends; most pages are still firmly attached though there are several blank pages lying inside as I found it...I am not sure if these were part of this book at one time or not. There are also some newspaper clippings and a builder's plans I will leave with it also. The inside cover page has brown marks as seen in photo (shadow is from camera) but remainder of book is ok except for very back where there is a stain on inside cover and a page or two...nothing major affected. I have tried to describe this accurately but with 107 pages, I may have missed something. So much history here in a book that deserves a place in a collection. Though not perfect, it certainly is rare and of value both now and to future generations! Often these books are parted out for the individual maps or lithographs inside them that can sell for over $100 each...or printers make new copies of the maps to sell. Hopefully this one will find an appreciative new home.
