Here is a very unusual paper doll for the doll, book, paper doll or toy collector. The doll is about 16" tall and has been mounted to a wooden diecut in the exact shape of the doll. This is a homemade cutout probably done by a dad for his little girl. It is done on 3/4" wide board. Attached to this you will find a book that is also diecut in the shape of the doll's wardrobe and opposite each outfit is a page telling the story of this little girl named Sally. One page is pasted to the main figure and I was unable to separate that dress from the paperdoll. There are tape remnants on the cover and I have added cloth book binding tape to the book to help keep it in place on the doll...this way you can carefully read the story and hold the doll at the same time. I see no maker's marks anywhere on the doll or the book but the former owner left some carved letters and scribbles on the back of the wood. Just a delightful piece for display along with other old toys from the era where one toy could entertain you for a long long time!! They sure don't make them like this anymore!!
