From the Victorian Era, this beautiful Christening Cape is offered for the serious collector. It is unsurpassed in workmanship! The eyelet design, embroidered flowers, scalloped edging, adorable collar and excellent condition combine to make this a very special addition to those who love antique clothing, textiles, and masterpieces from the past. I will allow the photos to show the detail and skill that went into the making of this cape. An attached paper tells that one James Murray, born in 1875 was baptised in this cape. I show it on a 36" doll...it is about 16" long and 40" end to end when opened flat and has a 12" collar opening. I found only one tiny old repair on it but if desired, you may wish to give it a gentle laundering to remove any small marks I may have overlooked. This is certainly a museum quality fashion from days gone by and you will not likely see another like it very often! Use on your favorite large antique doll. Guaranteed to please!
