From my personal collection, I am offering this lovely and skillfully made textile. For many years I collected anything relating to deer but recently have moved on to other ventures and am now parting with my deer collection. This is one of my very favorites because of the detail and workmanship that went into this piece. The table cover is about 26" square and features blue deer (stags) and flowers on a linen background with contrasting brown accents. The hand hemmed edges are also stitched in brown. The stitching on this is so very tedious that I was hesitant to say it is cross stitched...but, I do believe it was all done with tiny little x stitches! The subject matter and skill of the maker lead me to believe this is from the late 1800s or early 1900s. There is a very faint small mark in the very center of the cloth...hardly noticable and easily forgiven. I can not imagine the hours that went into the making of this treasure! Frame this or use on an antique table...you will not be disappointed!!
