What a find!
This rare ACME ALE Beer advertising tin is really hard to come by. Made in the time of the depression from 1930s going into 1940s before WWII, and it says it all: "There's a pip of a NIP in every sip".
This beautiful piece has great graphics and is in a very nice condition for its age. The rear side actually shoes the age, were metal and cardboard come together. Hanging in a pup for many years, the sweating left some rust stains around the crimped edges
.The lower right shows ACME BREWERIES, San Francisco and a round stamp: UNITED BREWERIES, INDUSTRIAL FOUNDATION< MEMBER ( in the center)with hops and barley leaves.
Now on the left lower corner, there is a badly smudged stamp, very hard to identify. But with research and a Lupe I managed to be successful. The Oval says: Enamel & Art Signs Industries ( on the top half)
the lower section says: H D Beach Coshocton O. Then in the center of the oval stamp: the design of of two shaking hands, and letters on the left and right side of it, showing: A.F. of L., i.e. American Federation of Labor (Union).
The Beach Manufacturers were very well known and had at their peak 2500 customers and produced for CocaCola alone over 70 Million pieces!!
The size of that beauty is 17" x 11" and could be yours.
