I recently acquired two Fabulous Theatre Costumes from a Local Estate. I was told the couple had purchased them from a Theatre Company in the early 80's. Too good to pass up, I purchased this Emerald Green Silk Velvet Jacket and a two piece Pink set in a similar style. I love this jacket so much and many possibilities for creating a 'One of a Kind' Halloween Costume. My best guesstimate is late 1800's early 1900's, looking at the hardware and materials used. This set would fit a large frame Woman or a Small to Medium Gentleman. The Jacket is Lined and Heavy. It has 7 Heavy duty Hooks and eyes down the front. Last hook has broken off. Cape Collar with Oversized Cuffs Trimmed in Antique Gold Bullion and Domed Metal Buttons. Fancy!
I have made no attempt to Clean this piece!
