This late 19th c. Tramp Art Child's Dressing Cupboard is a wonderful and untouched example of the genre, first being a miniature "case piece" of furniture and second being embellished with numerous carved and applied decorative elements.
With a Pyramid inspired, three level, stepped form, housing three drawers (two smaller and one large constructed with tiny square cut nails), over two opposing cupboard doors with Tombstone shaped inserts, in an original varnish finish. All porcelain pulls are original as are the door hinges with no restoration or repairs. The two framed mirrors at top appear to be original which is another reason I feel this is a child's piece. The back board has early screws and square nail construction. The entire piece is decorated with saw tooth carving, incising and stippled decoration as well as two star elements above each mirror and a stylized Princess Crown in the center. The height overall is 28".
