Being a dealer that loves early lighting, this Brass, Early 18th century, American or English, Saw Tooth, Chandelier Trammel has excellent patina and it's adjustment arm is finished in a Serpent's Head. There are other tooled elements and it runs smoothly.
It is commonly known that these trammels may also have been used in the fireplace in addition to the wrought iron examples and also with Betty Lamps or lanterns making them adjustable to changes of light in an early home.
It measures 17.5 inches fully closed and 27 inches fully opened.
