You will not find another one like this. I do not know its history but this quilt is certainly unique : twelve images of heads that are machine appliqued using a zigzag stitch. Most of the fabrics are woolens, different textures, colors and weaves. Backing is an old blanket . Quilt is quite clean with some insignificant spots, the worst is an area at the top right. Ties are green cotton, binding is the blanket backing turned to the front and again zigzag hemmed. There are a few moth holes here and there and then especially in the pink knit sweater used in the shirt at the top right and the neck of the sweater in the image at the bottom center. Quite heavy.
Quilt was collected in Ohio and dates from about 1950-60, possibly African American. It has been in my own collection for about 25 years.
