For the lover of really early quilts. This oversized quilt alternates pieced 9 patches on point with strips of floral patterned glazed chintz. The colors are vibrant and condition is excellent for its age. There is some shattering in the chintz — about a dozen different places and I have pointed out the most significant spots. There are a few light brown age spots which again the largest ones are indicated. There is one small nibble in the thin binding. The back of the quilt shows some dirt, particularly along fold lines. The quilting is superb as is the piecing. Binding is very narrow and without wear.
