Art Deco platinum ring with large jadeite overlaid with coral and diamond shoulders. This fantastic vintage ring features a large natural jadeite and a natural coral. The dramatic design, brilliant colour contrasts and exquisite workmanship is quintessential roaring 20s style.
The large natural jadeite measures 23.6 x 16.18 x 5.7mm. It was cut out in the centre and fitted with a platinum collar setting in which the coral is set. The jadeite is a medium apple green with subtle deep green striations. It is a medium texture and medium low translucency. Due to its large size it is a heavy cabochon!
The natural coral is of the finest colour- deep brilliant oxblood red. It is 6.65mm diameter and 2.2mm thick.
The handmade 1920s mount is superbly crafted in the Art Deco tradition. Beautifully detailed, it has 6 beadset old European cut and transitional cut round diamonds HIJ colour, SI1 - I clarity totalling approximately 0.45. Stamped "Platinum " and verified by acid testing. Weight 12.1 grams. Good vintage condition. The ring is currently size 6 and can be sized within reason.
