Studio maquette in plaster for the construction of the Sphinx onstage in Grand Opening of The Metropolitan Opera at Lincoln Center , Sept 16, 1966. The opening featured the opera Anthony and Cleopatra featuring Leontyne Price as Cleopatra. The maquette is constructed in plaster by set designers and painted in gold paint, the base is covered in fabric swat of the original red curtains. The C D is of Leontyne Price recordings and the DVD is a private collections of tv coverage of the event and the moving of the cast and singers around the sphinx at center stage. The maquette is 11.7" wide and 14.25" deep, the height is 13"
The condition is good . a small crack in block of the side exists , ( quickly repaired if desired)
