Cupid bronze by Simon-Louis Boizot, after the original marble now found in the Louver. A great image of a young and atheletic cupid pulling the bow in a very powerful twisting of the torso, the large and wonderful wings the direct intensity of the expression. Created about 1772 in white marble. This bronze is early 19th after the original. The bronze has no markings. The size is 21.5" tall on a rectangular base 10.5" by 7".
The condition is very good. nice olive bronze patina
