William Hamilton Gibson (1850-1896 New York, Connecticut) Still-life of Roses in fine crackle glaze vase. The scene dominated by the silk backdrop. Oil on canvas on thick wooden stretchers. Signed with an elaborate gold monogram to the lower right above the tabletop. A very calm and abstracted composition. The size is 17" wide by 33" tall.
The condition is very fine. The canvas is very strong and smooth, the construction is very tight. The back of the canvas is sized in a clear varnish. No frame is present.
