All weights, colour and clarity of diamonds and gemstones have been assessed while mounted in their jewellery, unless certificated by a recognised gem laboratory. The colour and clarity of diamonds and gems are difficult to assess while still in their settings. I have used my experience and knowledge to assess these characteristics to the best of my ability while they are still in their settings, the exact weight, colour and clarity when unset could differ. The setting can hide the weight, colour and clarity. My predictions are an honest and fair assessment that I have used when I have purchased the item/s. All weights, colour and clarity have been predicted using industry wide techniques. When a piece of jewellery does not have any clear hall markings or clear and obvious engravings that will identify the items date, I will assess the article myself for its period and date when it was made. Where every care has been taken to arrive at the exact date of the jewellery it is sometimes difficult to predict the date but fairer to predict the date within a period of manufacture. I use my knowledge, the characteristics of the style of manufacture the style of setting, and the cut of the gemstones when assessing datelines. When dealing with gemstones or periods of jewellery I have worked extremely hard to arrive at the accurate information, by using my experience, knowledge, skill and integrity. When purchasing any item/s from my shop on Ruby Lane you are accepting my methods of predicting the specifications of the gemstones and dateline of the jewellery listed and you the buyer understand that there can be a difference in the characteristics between the diamonds and gemstones that are set in the jewellery and diamonds and gemstones that have been unset.

Layaway policy.

My shop offers a layaway payment plan on all purchases over $250. To organise a layaway plan the buyer will need to get into contact with me prior to any agreement in order to discuss the terms of the plan. A plan will require a 20% down payment, for the article. The down payment is non refundable. The ongoing payments which will be at monthly increments will be discussed on a case by case basis. Item/s that have entered into a layaway agreement can only be exchanged once they have been returned to me within 30 days of purchase. The exchange can only be sanctioned once the item has been checked that it is in the original condition.

All UK and International shipping will be paid by me using a reputable carrier with insurance. Purchased item/s UK or International will be shipped with a reputable shipper within 3 days of funds clearing. Shipping takes place Monday through Friday. Within the UK I will ship with Royal Mail Special delivery. International shipments will be with a reputable carrier, Royal Mail International or Federal Express. All items will be tracked, insured and will require a signature on receipt. Please be aware that international customs duties and local sales taxes are the full responsibility of the purchaser, the international customs and duties are calculated at the local rates to the country the item has been shipped to. The local taxes and duties will not be refunded on returned shipments. Items will not be shipped to a postal box address. Please contact me within 3 days of receipt of your item/s if you would like to make a return. I will acknowledge your return request within 3 working days. Any customs duties or charges incurred on return due to wrong labelling will be deducted from the refunded amount. Item/s must be returned in the same condition they were in when received by you. Damaged, broken or altered items (including re-sizing) will not be accepted for a refund. I accept no responsibility for the loss of value caused by any alteration or damage to the item whilst in your care. Please do not return damaged items caused by shipment as doing so will void the insurance policy on that item.
