Offered for sale is a porcelain Chinese Export Famille Verte cup and saucer ca. 1770. Both the cup and saucer have the same double scroll border encircling their inner rims. The top scroll is made of dual purple “firework” bursts, each with a green dot connecting their centers, and each separated by green linear lines. The lower scroll is made of orange dual upside-down crescents connected at the top by green ringlets, and separated at the bottom by small purple flowers with green leaves angling toward the bottom of the cup and of the saucer. The center of the cup has a singe orange bud with tendrils, and the center of the saucer has a grouping of flowers including a large pink/purple rose and smaller pink, purple and orange flowers with small green leaves in and around them, and with one green and purple butterfly to one side. The outside of the cup is decorated with flowers which incorporate the center design from the saucer along with one lone butterfly. Both the cup and the saucer have shallow foot rims. Each pieces is in “as made” condition with very little wear. Neither the cup nor the saucer is marked.
