Fabulous GORHAM Sterling Silver 4 Piece Desk Set
This lovely desk set was produced in 1913 by the GORHAM Silver company and is very much in the style of the day. Three of the four pieces are monogrammed with the initials F A C while inkwell tray is not. Set consists of the following:
Sterling silver frame for a perpetual calendar. Calendar pieces are gone but frame remains. Monogram FAC. Measures about 3" by 3.75". Normal hallmark and makers mark, and item number. Weighs 1.580 ozt.
Sterling silver pen wipe holder with same monogram and same makers marks and another item number. 1.75" high by 2" wide. Weighs 1.205 ozt.
Sterling silver stamp or notions jar with cobalt blue glass liner. Also I suppose it could have held a sponge to dampen stamps. Use it for whatever your heart desires. 1.75" high by 2.75" wide. Displays shamrock date stamp for 1913 along with regular hallmark and makers mark. Weighs 1.356 ozt without glass liner.
Sterling silver inkwell tray with replacement inkwell. Tray has a single ding in inside bottom and some use marks. Inkwell is a replacement with brass mounts. I presume that the original had a Sterling top with same monogram but that one is long gone. I am including the one in the pictures as it fits tray and the general style of the set. Inkwell does have two scratches on the top. Measures 4.75" square by about 4" high. Tray weighs 2.575 ozt.
All items together weigh 6.720 Troy ounces.
