This fabulous 1920s vintage wirework peacock brooch is so unique and intricate! We love the large scale of the piece along with the articulated movement. This exceptionally long pin is made of silver wire work, resembling filigree. From the body and first tier of tail feather on this gorgeous peacock, hangs three additional hanging tail sections. Each of these three hanging sections is articulated for movement. At the base of each tail section, there are dangling slivers of silver cut in leaf like shapes. There is one dangling detail missing at the first tier of the tail feathers. On the back of the piece, there is the original pin back with a C-clasp or closure. Overall, this piece is in very beautiful vintage condition, without any breaks in the wirework at all. There are no maker's marks or stamps for metal content. The body of the peacock is 2 inches wide. From the crown of the peacock to the bottom of the lowest tier, it measures 7.5 inches long. It weighs 28 grams.
