This unusual and beautiful 1920s dress comes with the original under slip and is in excellent condition. The orange material is silk and the black portions are as well. Small black seed beads adorn the shoulders, sleeves, trim, and pockets. The silk slip is hemmed with a black wool border measuring 10 1/2 inches long. The slip has snap closures on the left-hand side and some staining in the under arms. It has has not been cleaned. The dress itself has closures on the left back armhole and neckline. There are also snaps on the cuffs. The layered and asymmetrical color block look is most evident from the side and is a wonderful touch. The black beading has a scalloped effect and very few beads are missing. There are some loose threads on the left cuff, but most other areas appear to be in perfect condition. There is some weakening of the fabric in the armholes of the dress, I would suggest stabilizing them prior to significant wear. On the front of the dress there are a few dotted stains, nothing is any bigger than 1/16 of an inch. Again this piece has not been cleaned and it is in excellent antique condition. The dress is shown on a size 2 model and a size 4 dress form. It is meant to fit loosely. Sleeve length 21 inches bust 40 inches, Straight construction so there is no hip measurement. Total length approximately 40 inches. Please view our other flapper dresses for sale.
