This ornate Antique ring was made in the Austro Hungarian Renaissance Revival style. It was made in the later 1800s out of sterling silver, rose gold, and a large red coral cabochon. The marking is illegible and a bit unusual for a Hungarian ring since it is on the interior instead of the exterior of the band. However, the overall detail on the ring highly suggest it is Austro-Hungarian in origin. The face of the ring is mostly sterling, with some rose gold shapes featured flowers in each cardinal direction. The sides of the band are highly decorated with rose gold leaves, and the exterior of the band is also rose gold washed. The vibrant coral stone in the center is in excellent antique condition with no chips or discoloration. There is some scratching that is expected with age. The stone is a deep coral/orange/red color.
The ring is currently a US size 4. The band has some decoration, so resizing would be difficult but not impossible. However, a size 4 is an average size for a pinky, so this could be a very beautiful pinky cocktail ring. The cabochon measures 16 mm x 11 mm, and the ring weighs 7.1 grams.
