This stunning Antique brooch is from the Victorian era circa the 1980s-1900s. It features a hand painted portrait on porcelain which was likely painted by a limner. Limners were painters that specialized in portraits and miniatures. They were often anonymous and traveled from town to town. The portrait is of a young lady with a pink dress. She is holding a gold jewelry box with a strand of pearls. She is sitting against a sky blue backdrop. The porcelain is set in a bezel setting with a twisted gold filled frame. The pin back is original and is in good working condition. This piece is not signed. The measurements with the setting are 2 1/8 inches by 1 3/4 inches. The piece weighs 14.2 grams.
