Larimar is an extremely rare gemstone that has been found in only one location: in a mountainous, relatively inaccessible region of the Dominican Republic overlooking the Caribbean Sea. This gemstone has become relatively new to most of the world, beginning in 1974, although Dominicans have been aware of it for generations.
This beautiful set features a solid 14k gold chain and setting. The pendent is in the shape of a tooth, possibly a shark tooth. The earrings are not solid gold, likely because they have been changed from post to screw back. They could easily be changed back to posts because there is a loop coming out of the earring, and the screw back can come right off that loop. The earrings are similar to a tear drop shape. The sky blue color is mixed with a white and darker blue. The stones are stunning and as stated above, very rare. This set would make a lovely gift!
