This beautiful sterling silver and carved polished lapis lazuli ring is in excellent condition. It has an Art Nouveau feel, and probably dates to the 1910s or 1920s. The ring features an intricately hand carved flying crane in lapis (there are possible two cranes carved, but I'm having trouble deciphering the bottom half of the carvings). The sterling shanks are decorated with geometric Asian inspired designs. In the Chinese tradition, the crane is represents longevity. Wearing a carved crane is blessing for longevity, so this ring would be the perfect gift for your loved ones!
The ring is marked 'STERLING' on the interior back of the band, and the band is thin but still in wearable condition. The ring is a size 3.75, but could easily be resized by a jeweler. It weighs 3.3 grams. The lapis stone measures 19 mm x 14 mm, and the ring measures 19 mm (3/4") from the back of the band to the top of the face. I have not cleaned this piece at all. The sterling has a beautiful patina quality that could probably be polished to brighten up if you'd prefer a shinier look.
