This cast iron still bank was made by A C Williams. It is their billiken bank made from 1909 thru 1912. Billiken is a good luck figure created in 1908 by Florence Prenz an illustrator and art teacher in Missouri. It is also the mascot of St. Louis University. This bank has the original gold paint with red for the hair. The paint is dark and worn especially on the back, arms and cheeks. The metal is dark and smooth where it shows. Billiken sits on a base which reads 'billiken' on the front and 'good luck' on the back. This collectible bank has no chips or cracks.
