This small metal tray is a commemorative from the Columbian Exposition held in Chicago in 1893. It has a bust of Christopher Columbus in the middle. Above the bust is 'World's Columbian Exposition' and below reads 'Chicago 1893'. The remaining space on the bottom of the tray is embellished with cut design. The border has an attractive floral and scallop design. There is a chip out of the lower right corner. On close inspection of the edge on the underside there are a couple other spots were I see the interior graining of the metal. These spots are minor chips but I can not see any loss on the top of the tray other than the lower right corner. The metal is a dark silver-gray color. It has a little white residue in the crevices of the intricate border design. This is still an attractive souvenir from a popular 19th century world's fair.
