This little metal trinket box is a souvenir from the Columbian exposition held at Chicago in 1893. It was originally silver plated and is marked as such on the inside of the lid. The plating is worn away on the outside. The box has an attractive design of stylized leaves on the sides. The top reads 'World's Columbian Exposition, Chicago 1893' and has a bust of Christopher Columbus. It stands on ball feet. There is excess metal around the top of the feet on one side. More on the back foot than the front. This is an attractive columbian expo souvenir.
