This antique conical bullet has a rim fire brass casing. The lead bullet has a layer of white oxidation. The casing appears thin. It is aged dark brown and has green and slightly yellowish corrosion. There are no marks on this piece. I held it up to a 50 caliber shell and it looks to be that size. It likely dates to the civil war era but maybe a bit later I can not say for sure. I also do not have information on were it was found. It is possible it is from a battlefield but it may not be. It is unusual to find a conical bullet like this, which looks similar to a mini ball, in a brass casing. This is a very interesting and attractive collectible piece of ammunition.
