The Church at Auvers – After Vincent van Gogh – 2004
Original hand-painted oil on canvas reproduction of Dutch post-impressionist artist Vincent van Gogh’s painting entitled “The Church at Auvers”. The original painting was created in 1890, shortly before the artist’s death. It presently hangs in the Musée d’Orsay in Paris, France.
The church represented in this painting is located in Place de l’Église, Auvers-sur-Oise, France, 27 kilometres (17 mi) north-west of Paris.
This delightful painting faithfully replicates the wonderful use of light and shadows present in the original, with emphasis on the swirling tones of blue for the sky and the sun-lit green grass. It is guaranteed to brighten any space in your home or office.
The painting was purchased in 2004 at an art gallery in Auvers-sur-Oise representing talented local artists, and although the painting is signed, unfortunately the signature is not clear and the previous owner had misplaced its identifying paperwork.
