Beautiful antique Victorian long guard or muff chain. This chain has a very delicate and slick design, the chain itself I believe called a foxtail and looks like a silk cord rather than a chain, it is divided by rose gold round faceted beads that add a bit of sparkle and make it look elegant and refined. This long chain can be worn in a number of ways, you can comfortably wrap it twice and three times around a neck and you always can add any pendant or locket to it. I like this one as it easily can be worn on its own without and adornments and still look fabulous!

The chain is marked 9ct on a little plague near the large spring ring, the necklace also was tested and confirmed to be 9k.

Length: 54" (135 cm), total weight 16.9 gr.

Condition: superb antique condition, just some wonderful patina of old gold, and one of thick connecting links shows tools marks and might be an old replacement, but it has exactly the same colour as other components so I tend to think it is original and just was adjusted at some point, the chain is strong and does not have any signs of repair or excessive wear. Beauty from the past ready to be cherished in the present.
