A particularly lovely and artistic pictorial rug, depicting Shiprock, a significant ceremonial and spiritual landmark of the eastern Navajo Nation. The artist uses speckled blue yarn around the edges to simulate a starry night along with a dark gray sky and central background. A traditional pueblo water jar or olla stands nearby. Circa 1980. Unknown weaver, using commercial and hand spun yarns. Size: 16" W x 11" H.
