Julia Enoch, Navajo weaver, Two Gray Hills wool rug. Circa 1980. Size: 13" W, 14.75" L.
The two gray hills style of Navajo rug, typically from the Eastern reservation and in this case from Crownpoint, NM, depicts four corner triangles and a central diamond-shaped geometric pattern. Colors used in this style are traditionally natural wool colors: white or cream, brown, gray, and black. The wool used in this rug is handspun sheep's wool.
CONDITION: Excellent. No damage or repairs. The staples used to attach the tag can be removed without damaging the rug.
Nice sample size for a traditional Eastern reservation pattern.
