The Schoenhut Toy Co. of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania made a series of delivery wagons in the 1920s and early 1930s, with a few representing milk companies. This Hood’s Milk Co. edition from 1930 is in amazing condition, with its horse, the milk delivery man, the crate of milk bottles, and even the curtain on the back of the truck still intact. The red wheels and their axles are in great condition except for coating on the wheel rims worn off. The horse has its fuzzy coat worn off in places also, but still has its leather trappings and its wonderful face. The milkman is complete with his hat, and the milk crate has nine original milk bottles. The painted advertisement on the side of the wagon, H.P. Hood & Sons Dairy Products, with cow, is in fine condition on both sides. The entire toy, horse plus wagon, is 23” x 9.5” x 11.75”. Includes a 1986 calendar from Hood Co. with the toy pictured on the front. This is a rare fine!
