A wonderful large Mayan inspired vase or bowl by Miguel Pineda ca.1970 Mexico
Silver plate and champleve enamel vase. Black enamel base and interior.

Miguel Pineda was introduced to enamelling by Maggie Howe who ran workshops in Mexico City. Pineda studied with her during the late 50s and 60s and afterwards developed his own style and techniques, specialising in cloisonné, champlevé, sgrafitto and painted enamel.
Offered in very good vintage condition: Some very minor tarnish to the silver in areas around the base. No damage to the enamel or outer surface, but there is one very small chip to the inside of the bowl just inside the rim. It isn't visible from the top at all, but if you tip the bowl on it's side it can be seen.
