Narrow, flat-faced band, size 11 ¾. 21.2mm inner diameter. Band is 3.2mm wide. It is thought that Viking warriors wore narrow rings to minimize interference with the grip of their weapons. Archaeologically undecided at this point but with abundant examples representing Vikings at pastoral pursuits, and raiding, clarity may be expected in the next few years. Fine patina. Vikings exchanged rings on the pommel of the groom’s sword. Professionally refurbished with the gold overlay restored for modern wear. Gift boxed with certificate of authenticity.
