This is a lovely ring fashioned from unmarked but tested 18 carat gold. Although we can not weigh antique stones the way way that we weigh modern stones, I can tell you that the amethyst is the size of a modern 2 carat stone, and the amethyst has a surround of 10 .25 sized rose cut diamonds. The ring is a size 6 and 1/4 to 6 and 1/2, but it could be resized by someone used to working with antique jewelry. The ring is circa 1880, and it weighs 5.4 grams. This ring is a bargain, I think, and it is in excellent, wearable, condition.
