This is a lovely ring with a large, foiled and close backed pink topaz, surrounded by ten rose cut diamonds. The ring is circa 1820, and it is a size 7n and 3/4, but it could be sized with a external ring sizer, or by someone who is used to working with antique jewelry. The ring is in very good condition, and it is circa 1820. The rose cut diamonds are set in silver as they always were in that period. The setting is unmarked but tested 18 carat gold. The ring weighs 8.5 grams. Although we cannot weigh antique stones the same way that we weigh modern one, I have an implement which shows the size of stones, and the pink topaz is the size of a 2 carat stone. It is quite substantial and noticeable on the finger. Pink topaz is probably my favorite stone, and they are very hard, if not impossible, to find today. This one is a beauty.
