This is an absolutely beautiful and pristine memorial locket. It is composed of 15 carat, unmarked but tested, yellow gold, which is fashioned like a Hunter watch case would be. The front of the locket features a bed of black enamel with a gold basket full of multi colored enameled flowers. There is nothing about this locket that screams memorial, until one opens it. It has a tight clasp and it opens by pressing down the knob on top, just as one would open a watch case. Upon opening the locket, one seems the words, in black enamel, In Memory Of, and there is a photo of a gentleman, with circa 1860 sideburns. The locket measures 2 and 3/8 inches, counting the bale, North to South, and and 3/8 inches left to right. It weighs 28.2 grams. I had to have this when I saw it. The workmanship is so beautiful, and it is excellent, condition. It is very wearable and versatile.
