Celebrating 25 years of Antiquing Bliss
Rose Diamond Cross, Victorian - image 1 of 3

This is a lovely Victorian (circa 1850-60) rose cut diamond cross, crafted in silver (unmarked but tested sterling). It measures a little over 2 inches long, counted the bale, and 1 inch wide. It weighs 6.1 grams, and is in excellent, wearable, condition. I love the little bow in the bale, as that is one of my favorite motifs. I have quite a little collection of crosses myself, as I always wear one when traveling as my type of St. Christopher medal. This one is really nice, as it is dressy with bright diamonds, but yet it is not so flashy it could not be worn with jeans. It can be kept bright with a jewelry or silver cleaning cloth, or it can be allowed to tarnish and darken. I would actually love to keep this one, but if I do I have to give up another piece, so for now it is for sale.
