This is a very nice In Memory Of memorial band.It is unmarked but tested 18 carat gold and it is in excellent condition. The ring has a bezel with hair of the beloved inside, and the band consists of black enamel and beautiful Gothic script spelling out the phrase "IN MEMORY OF." The ring is now a size 7, but at some point is has been sized down because there is a very clever gold piece attached inside to make the ring smaller. It could be resized by removing this piece of gold, or by adding more, or little gold balls to make it smaller. This would have to be done with a jeweler who is used to working with antique jewelry. This ring weighs 6.2 grams and the band measures between 1/8 and 14 inches wide. The back is inscribed: "Catherine Daubney ob 22nd May 1843 AET 75. This could be used as a memorial to any loved one. There is plenty of room around the inside band to have another name engraved. NOTE: I actually found this lady on online. She lived in Chelsea, Middlesex, England, which is very close to London, and she is buried at the St. Luke's Church, Chelsea, Middlesex , England. I also found her will, but it was very difficult to read the handwriting, but it probably could be printed out and read. Her name was Mary Catherine,
